Hi, I’m McKayla Basham, the founder and lead nurse practitioner at Total Life Wellness & Aesthetics here in Hardin County. I started this practice with one vision in mind: to create a space where people could heal, feel confident, and be truly cared for—inside and out.

I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University and I’m board certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Over the years, I’ve pursued advanced training in aesthetics, functional and integrative medicine, regenerative pain management, and anti-aging therapies. My background in both emergency and integrative care has shaped the way I practice today—I value precision and safety just as much as compassion and whole-person healing.

My greatest passion is helping people uncover the root causes of their health concerns and feel at home in their bodies. Some days that means balancing hormones, restoring gut or thyroid health, or guiding someone through a weight-loss journey. Other days it’s creating natural, refreshed results with injectables or laser treatments that help a patient see on the outside how vibrant they feel on the inside. To me, beauty, health, and confidence are all connected.

I also love mentoring other providers and building a team culture that uplifts and empowers women in healthcare. Total Life Wellness & Aesthetics has quickly grown into something bigger than I ever imagined—a community of women supporting women, of providers helping patients reclaim their lives, and of people finding healing in ways they didn’t think were possible.

At my core, I believe wellness isn’t just the absence of disease—it’s balance, joy, confidence, and longevity. My dream is to continue growing TLWA into the largest, most comprehensive health-spa in Central Kentucky, where patients can find everything from functional medicine and hormone optimization to advanced aesthetics and longevity therapies, all under one roof.

When you walk into my office, I hope you feel seen, cared for, and reminded that you are capable of healing and thriving at every stage of life.
